About This Course
Assure Safety Pte Ltd intends to offer training to both commercial and residential cleaners.
To deliver quality cleaning outcomes to service buyers, cleaning industries are committed to deepen the technical skillset of the cleaners.
There has been an increase in the demand for cleaning services.
In addition, The Government had jointly accepted the Tripartite Cluster for Cleaners (TCC)’s recommended mandatory training requirement under the Skills Framework for Environmental Services.
The enhanced training requirement would equip cleaners with the knowledge and skills needed to carry out their work safely, as well as achieve higher productivity and better service delivery.
From 31 December 2022 onwards, cleaning businesses must ensure that all cleaners attain:
(i) one Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) module, AND
(ii) one Core module, Modules are selected from the list of modules endorsed by the TCC.
This proposed singular module on Food Shop Hygiene Maintenance (Level 1) is one of the core modules.
What You’ll Learn
Assure Safety plans to provide Food Shop Hygiene Maintenance (Level 1) as a way for cleaners to advance in their careers under the Progressive Wage Model (PWM).
Learners after training:
LO1. Identify salient legal requirement.
LO2. Follow the organisational procedures in using various removal methods of dust, debris, soilage and spillage from floors, tables, used crockery and cutlery, and refuse-holding area.
LO3. Follow the organisational procedures in collecting, handling, and cleaning of used crockery and cutlery. LO4. Identify different types of receptacles and/or racks their use.
LO5. Selecting the suitable safety signage and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for cleaning equipment and appliances within food shops.
LO6. Collecting of used crockery and cutlery, and conducting cleaning activities within the food shop, which including kitchen, wash areas, and refuse-holding areas based on organisational procedures.
LO7. Informing the appropriate person(s) when work activities are unable to carried out. LO8. Maintain replenishment of cleaning supplies used.

Minimum Entry Requirement
Assumed Skills and Knowledge
• No formal qualification or education.
• Able to speak, listen, write, and read English with Numeracy skills at a minimum proficiency level of the Employability Skills System i.e., Workplace Literacy and Numeracy(WPLN) Level 2.
Assumed Attitudes
• Have knowledge on own work role and corresponding responsibilities.
• Have knowledge of the cleaning agents used in performing cleaning activities.
Course Content:
Individuals who have at least 3 months of work experience in the environmental service industry, particularly as a General Cleaner, or have completed a similar module such as a cleaning course, cleaning course in Singapore, environmental cleaning services course, or WSQ cleaning course, are eligible to enroll in this assessment-only pathway (AOP) module.
This AOP module exclusively consists of assessment.
Ineligible participants may choose to enroll in Food Shop Hygiene Maintenance (Level 1) module, which includes both training and assessment.
Additionally, individuals interested in a basic cleaning course or a cleaning supervisor course can explore relevant training options.
