About This Course
Assure Safety Pte Ltd intends to offer training to both commercial and residential cleaners.
To deliver quality cleaning outcomes to service buyers, cleaning industries are committed to deepen the technical skillset of the cleaners.
There has been an increase in the demand for cleaning services.
In addition, The Government had jointly accepted the TCC’s recommended mandatory training requirement under the Skills Framework for Environmental Services.
The enhanced training requirement would equip cleaners with the knowledge and skills needed to carry out their work safely, as well as achieve higher productivity and better service delivery.
From 31 December 2022 onwards, cleaning businesses must ensure that all cleaners attain: (i) one Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) module, AND (ii) one Core module, Modules are selected from the list of modules endorsed by the TCC.
This proposed singular module on Washroom Maintenance (Level 2) is one of the core modules.

Performance gaps that the course will address.
Please elaborate how the performance gaps were identified.
The following performance gaps were tabulated based on consolidated feedbacks from the various stakeholders in different cleaning companies. They have provided insights over the worker’s performance and competency issues in washroom maintenance.
What You’ll Learn
Assure Safety plans to provide Washroom Maintenance (Level 2) as a way for cleaners to advance in their careers under the Progressive Wage Model (PWM).
Learners before training: –
1. Not knowing what actions constitute to wasting water and roles and responsibilities of an employee under WSH Act.
2. Have difficulties in removing stubborn stains in washroom maintenance
3. Not able to apply basic first aid procedures to remove corrosive chemicals upon contact with human skin
4. Have difficulties in preparing work activities for washroom maintenance/ special cleaning of stubborn stains.
5. Have difficulties to determine when periodic cleaning or maintenance is required at the washroom.
6. Have difficulties in identifying the appropriate person to inform when work activities cannot be carried out.
7. Not able to recognise what consumable office supplies to replenish.
Learners after training:
1. Able to identify and understand what actions lead to wasting water and what are the roles and responsibilities of an employee under WSH Act.
2. Able to recognise the types of special cleaning chemicals and their colour coding for cleaning washroom facilities and able to use the special and/or corrosive detergent to remove stubborn stain
3. Can apply basic first aid to remove corrosive chemicals contacted onto human skin.
4. Able to assemble and prepare equipment, tools and supplies for Washroom maintenance.
5. Able to perform check on washroom to determine when special cleaning or maintenance is required.
6. Able to inform the supervisor or appropriate person at the workplace when work activities cannot be carried out.
7. Can reinstate work area after cleaning or maintenance work, and able to replenish consumables office supplies.

Minimum Entry Requirement
Assumed Skills and Knowledge
• No formal qualification or education.
• Able to speak, listen, write, and read English with Numeracy skills at a minimum proficiency level of the Employability Skills System i.e., Workplace Literacy and Numeracy(WPLN) Level 2.
Assumed Attitudes
• Have knowledge on own work role and corresponding responsibilities.
• Have knowledge of the cleaning agents used in performing cleaning activities.
Attendance & Assessment
Kindly note that you are required to achieve a minimum of 75% attendance and be certified competent in all the assessment components.
Should you fail to meet the attendance/assessment requirements and/or terms and conditions of SSG’s funding, you will not be eligible for the course fee funding and will have to bear the full course fees.
