To Be Advised
To Be Advised
This course is designed to equip learners with practical and strategic skills to craft prompts that influence the performance and outcomes of generative AI models.
Built on the Skills Framework for ICT under the GenAI Practitioner category, this intermediate-level course enables learners to explore the relationship between prompt structures, model behaviours, and output diversity.
Through hands-on, no-code activities, participants will learn how to create effective prompts using different engineering techniques to guide AI responses, identify prompt misuse, and apply strategies to optimise model performance.
Learners will also gain awareness of the limitations and risks associated with prompt design, including biases and context window constraints.
The course is suited for the general public and professionals across all industry sectors who are keen to explore the power of generative AI without requiring a technical background.
It supports workforce upskilling, digital literacy, and job role enhancements in an increasingly AI-augmented environment.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
a. Explain how prompt structures affect AI outputs and model behaviours.
b. Identify and apply prompt engineering techniques such as zero-shot, few-shot, and multi-turn prompting.
c. Use different prompt strategies tailored to specific foundation models and use cases.
d. Recognise and mitigate potential risks such as bias, misuse, and output irrelevance.
e. Evaluate prompt effectiveness and refine prompt design for improved outcomes.
Course topics include:
a. Prompt engineering frameworks and methods
b. Foundation models and their limitations
c. Strategies to handle context window and prompt misuse
d. Ethical considerations and bias mitigation in prompts
e. Multi-modal prompting: text, language, and conversation-based designs
